About Scott Oakes, WSO Principal Bassoon
In addition to being Principal Bassonist with the Wichita Symphony, Scott Charles Oakes has performed with various orchestras throughout the Midwest. He previously held positions with the Illinois Symphony, Rockford Symphony, Illinois Philharmonic, and the Quad City Symphony of Davenport, IA. Scott holds a Master of Music degree from the DePaul University School of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music. His principal teachers were William Buchman of the Chicago Symphony and Dr. Donald DaGrade.
